How did Joy Division members meet?
Peter Hook, Terry Mason, and Bernard Sumner were at all three the Salford Grammar School. They put an ad for a singer and Ian Curtis replied, as the three already knew him from concerts they all attended, he was immediately enrolled. When Terry Mason started to manage the band instead of playing the drums, another ad was put in a shop in Macclesfield, where Ian Curtis lived. And it's Stephen Morris who replied and became their new drummer
